Worship Life

Calvary's worship life is founded upon the Scriptura3-Supper WEBl truth that "the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve" (Matthew 20:28). And again, the Lord says, "I desire mercy, not sacrifice" (Hosea 6:6, Mt. 9:13). And a third time, "In every place where I cause my name to be remembered I will come to you and bless you. " (Exodus 20:24b).

Thus, Calvary's worship life is built upon the belief that we cannot please God with our sacrifices, efforts, good intentions. Instead, God desires to show us mercy and to dwell with His people, to come and serve us His cross-earned gifts - forgiveness of sins, faith, salvation - through His chosen means and instruments of His written and proclaimed Word, Baptism, and the Lord's Supper.

Thus, we join with the baptized of the early church, who "devoted themselves to the apostles' doctrine, the fellowship, the breaking of bread, and the prayers" (Acts 2:42).

Visitors are always welcome to join us and learn more about that which God desires to serve you... for indeed, Christ's words - "for you" - call all hearts to believe!
