Our Current Study:

"Romans" - For the Fall-Spring 2015-2016 Bible Study season, we studied the first seven chapters of Paul's epistle to the Romans. What a wonderful instruction on the doctrine of Christ and a great resource for ongoing catechesis in the Christian faith and life. In Fall-Spring 2016-2017, we will study chapters 8-16 and conclude our study of this beloved epistle. Join us!

Children's Studies:

Catechism Instruction: For three years (usually 6th-8th grade), students are taught the Christian Faith, using Dr. Martin Luther's Small Catechism as their guide. Each Sunday, the students gather to memorize the Catechism and to learn how to properly hear and distinguish Law and Gospel in the sermon. Each Wednesday, students meet with the pastor to apply their learning (see the Weekday classes below).

Sunday School for PreK-5th Grade: Children use the Sunday School hour to learn the accounts of the Scriptures; learn the Commandments, Apostles' Creed, and Lord's Prayer; memorize Bible verses; and sing songs and hymns that teach and confess the Faith.

Nursery: An infant/toddler nursery is available during the Sunday School hour - a safe and convenient place for parents to leave their youngsters while attending the morning's study hour. Children's Sunday School is on summer break, but is in session September through May. In the fall, children learn accounts of the Old Testament that point them to the love of God in Christ Jesus. Winter and spring point children to the Gospels and the New Testament. Children are also engaged in learning the catechism and the Lutheran hymnody. Your children are always welcome at Calvary's Sunday School.
